Make a long-term difference for animals in Bocas del Toro, Panama.
What started as one man’s vision to solve the stray animal problem has become a fully-functioning, permanent spay and neuter clinic and animal welfare group.

What we do:

Spay & neuter clinics

We are a fully-functioning, permanent spay and neuter clinic that has helped over 3,000 animals in the past 2 years, including in very remote areas.

Basic veterinary care

Our organization provides basic veterinary and life-saving care at no cost for stray animals and pets of low-income families who can't afford it.

Care for injured wildlife

While we primarily care for cats and dogs, we also help injured wildlife, including sloths, monkeys, parrots, hawks, and bats.

How you can help:

Papá Gato wouldn't exist without our volunteers and generous aid from the community. This allows us to provide life-saving veterinary care at no cost.

If you want to support our organization and the animals of Bocas del Toro, there's lots of ways to help!

Donate

We’re always grateful for our friends that are willing to donate to us. Each dollar makes a difference, whether it’s providing animals with veterinarian care or just a bed to sleep in. Our GoFundMe is a great place to start, but we also have an Amazon wishlist where you can help us buy some of the necessities for our animals. Every cent is appreciated!

Volunteer

We’re looking for volunteers that are willing to commit to helping us improve the lives of our animals. With a commitment of at least 2 days per month with you being a resident of Bocas del Toro or living here for at least 6 months every year. You also must have a love for animals! Medical volunteers are always appreciated in any duration of time, whether veterinarians or veterinary technicians.

To add but need copy: Be divided in two ways – regular volunteers vs visiting veterinarians

Fostering provides animals with a safe and loving shelter while they wait to find their permanent home. Whether long or short term, fostering saves lives, and we need as many fosters as we can get. If you can provide long-term care for animals up for adoption or recovering from health issues, we need people to foster cats and dogs of all ages.

adopt

Every animal deserves to be happy, and by adopting an animal you’re giving them a chance at that life. By offering a forever home, you’re helping save the lives of these animals by giving them the love they deserve. Each person that opens their heart and their home contributes to ending animal homelessness and building a more compassionate world, one paw at a time.
